7 safe sleeping practices7/2/2023 ![]() Room-sharing is safer than sleeping alone The following risk factors have been identified: Under certain circumstances, some studies have reported an increased risk of SUDI in co-sleeping babies. The mum checks her baby and breastfeeds them more frequently when co-sleeping than when room-sharing. Mums and babies who co-sleep tend to wake more during the night and this may protect against sudden unexpected infant deaths. It's impossible for another person to roll onto the baby without first touching her legs.Ī breastfeeding mum who co-sleeps with her baby also tends to be highly responsive to her baby’s needs. As long as she hasn’t drunk alcohol, taken illegal or sleep-inducing drugs and isn’t extremely tired. She instinctively bends her legs making the protective space around the baby. She keeps her baby at the level of her breast with an arm between her baby’s head and the pillow. She usually forms a protective "C'' shape around her baby. However, it has been found that when a breastfeeding mum co-sleeps, she usually lies in a position that helps her keep close physical contact and care of her baby. You may be concerned about co-sleeping with your baby. Mums who bed-share with their baby tend to breastfeed longer and keep exclusively breastfeeding for longer than those who do not co-sleep. Co-sleeping helps to minimise disruption to sleep for both mum and baby.īreastfeeding and co-sleeping mutually support each other. Co-sleeping is convenient for night feeding so that’s why parents choose to do it. ![]() Breastfed babies suffer fewer infections than formula-fed babies.īabies need to be fed during the night and many new mums fall asleep while feeding their baby. Some babies whose deaths are sudden and unexpected have had a minor infection in the days before that wasn’t considered sufficient alone to have caused death. antibodies and white blood cells) which may help to protect babies from SIDS. There are several theories as to why breastfeeding protects against sudden unexpected deaths in infancy:īreastfed babies are more easily woken up than formula-fed babies at 2 to 3 months of age, which is within the 2-to-4-month age when SIDS occurs most.īreastfeeding provides babies with important immune factors (e.g. Breastfeeding has a protective effect against SIDS ![]() It’s not bed-sharing alone that is dangerous, but other factors which may interact in bed-sharing and shared sleep environments to increase the risk of a sudden unexpected death in infancy (SUDI). However, many parents choose to, or have no option but to, share a sleep surface with their baby. It is recommended that babies sleep in their own safe sleeping space next to the parent's bed for the first 6 to 12 months of life. Australian research has found that around 75% of babies spend at least some time co-sleeping in the first 3 to 6 months of life. It helps them to care for their baby at night and everyone gets more sleep. If your baby ends up in your bed during the night, you're not alone. Many parents find that bringing their baby into their bed is easier. Co-sleeping is a term that refers to a mother and/or her partner (or any other person) being asleep on the same sleep surface as a baby. ![]()

Tresorit web login7/2/2023 ![]() ![]() The installation was pretty straightforward and the application itself looks clean and is easy to use. I’m an OS X user, so I am basing my experience on the Mac version of the product. Tresorit is also among the first apps offered on the Blackphone Silent Store. The Tresorit desktop application is available for Windows and OS X systems, iOS- and Android-running mobile devices, as well as Windows Phone and Blackberry devices. For the geek in you, a detailed paper on it was published at the 2012 edition of Parallel Processing Workshops (ICPPW). The latter is a key management protocol that allows a group of users to agree on a shared group key, which can be used to protect shared data stored remotely in the cloud. Invitation and key agreement is done with ICE and ITGDH. Transport Layer Security (TLS) is used between the client’s workstation and the Tresorit cloud service. File operations are authenticated by using RSA-2048 signatures applied on SHA-512 hashes. Their datacenters, made disaster proof and protected by 24/7 physical security, are located in the European Union and are HIPAA and ISO27001:2013 compliant.Īll files uploaded to the cloud are encrypted, client-side, with AES-256 encryption. Also, the company handles the data under strict Swiss privacy laws. ![]() In the “Snowden era” it is important to note that Tresorit doesn’t store any aspect of the crypto process that could make anyone else able to access your files. One of Tresorit’s major advantages is a patent-pending security system where both the encryption and decryption is done on the client side. The service provides end-to-end encryption for data in motion, along with all the enterprise functions related to managing user behavior and enforcing the policies for sharing the data in the most secure way possible. Tresorit for Business is a solution that, among other things, helps organizations with managing, protecting and preventing leaks of their corporate data. In the cloud computing era, companies need to be proactive on secure collaboration and file sharing. ![]()

Reverse polarity outlet7/2/2023 ![]() ![]() Forcing any plug into an outlet the wrong way can result in reversed polarity and can be extremely dangerous. Plugs can only be inserted into outlets one way.t. The power cords for such appliances have either a three-pronged plug or a two-pronged plug with one prong larger than the other- the larger blade is neutral, the smaller is hot and the cylindrical prong (if present) is the ground. Most home appliances in the United States use 110v AC power. An issue that is often discovered is called “reversed polarity”. If the tester indicates there is a problem, you should call an electrician to recheck the outlet and make repairs as needed.A key factor in helping fire investigators determine the cause of a fire is understanding electrical wiring product design. The indicator lights on the tester will show if an outlet is wired correctly, has an open ground, an open neutral, an open hot, or is hot/ground reversed or hot/neutral reversed (reverse polarity). These handy little devices are relatively inexpensive, easy-to-use, and can be purchased online or at a local big-box home improvement store. As a homeowner, how do I check for reverse polarity?Īn easy way to check the outlets in your home for reverse polarity is to purchase an outlet tester. Boom! You get a shock! You have become the ground conductor! If the electrical outlet was wired properly, the power would be at the switch and the coils on the neutral side of the circuit. You grab the butter knife, slip it into the toaster to dislodge the toast, but accidently come into contact with one of the coils. Your bread toasts, the switch turns off, and the coils are no longer red. So, you put in some bread, turn the toaster on, the circuit is completed, and all seems fine. If it’s plugged into an electrical outlet that has reverse polarity, the power would go directly to the toaster coils (the part that gets red hot when toasting), even when the toaster is switched off. ExampleĪnother example would be your toaster. In the event that someone is changing a light bulb, all it would take to complete the circuit to ground and get a shock is to touch the metal in the light socket. This means that the socket would have power all the time, even if the switch is turned off. If the electrical outlet is wired backwards, meaning reverse polarity, the hot wire is connected to the socket, not the switch. Once the switch is turned on, the power will travel through the hot wire to the lamp socket, lighting the bulb, then to the neutral conductor. Until the switch is turned on, there is no power to the lamp socket. ![]() In a properly wired electrical outlet, the hot wire is connected to the lamp’s switch. Let’s say, for example, that you have a lamp plugged into an outlet. The ground is typically a bare copper wire. If the electrical outlet is wired correctly, the hot side will have a black or red wire attached to it, and the neutral side will have a white wire attached to it. The little “doghouse” at the bottom is the ground wire, which is literally connected to the earth. The long slot is the neutral side, also known as the grounded conductor. The shorter slot is the hot side, also known as the ungrounded conductor. The slot orientation determines the polarity. ![]() When you look at an electrical outlet, you will notice that one of the slots is longer than the other. Water is supplied by the faucet (hot side) and exits through the drain (neutral side). Let’s use the kitchen sink as an analogy. Basically, they are designed for electricity to run through them in a certain way. We should probably understand how an electrical outlet and light fixture work before moving on to reverse polarity. How do electrical outlets and light fixtures work? ![]()

Team fortress 2 pyro pixel7/2/2023 ![]() ![]() The Spy for your team is not used to it from being disguised as an opposing team member and needing to stay out of the fire to keep cover, and/or RED and BLU use different chemical propellants that each have additional damaging side effects (since opposing team members are still affected by your team's flamethrower and vice versa). Same reasoning as above, but also gives an excuse for the "harmless friendly fire hurts opposing Spy" tactic: Pyro pyrizes indiscriminately because s/he thought the flamethrower was below everyone's baseline of pain (see also the WMG that Pyro thinks it's all a game, under "the pyro is actually deaf" above), and his teammates are used to it by now which reinforces the idea. I dragged the "ExtensisFontManagementAICC2014.api" plugin to the trash from each of adobe applications giving me problems (Illustrator and Photoshop for me). These plugin and extension folders should exist for each adobe application. I went to the application folder: the paths to the plugins for Adobe CC apps for me were Macintosh HD -> Applications -> Adobe Illustrator CC -> Plugins -> Extensions, or wherever your applications are.The AICC2014 part of the extension name will differ for each application. Windows 10 rename file time limit7/2/2023 ![]() These formats enable computer systems to identify the contents of a file and then figure out which software is needed to open it. Whenever we talk about files such as PDFs, ZIPs, and MP3s, we are referring to the file extension (or file type). In this guide, we will show you how to change the extension of a file in Windows 10 so that your system can open it successfully. While this can be as easy as simply renaming the extension, sometimes following this method can break the file. To do this successfully, you need to change the extension type. For example, you might have some of your picture files in JPG, and you want to change them to PNG. There are times when you want to change a file from one format to another. If you are wondering how to change file types on Windows, you will find the answer to this question below. However, they all come in different formats depending on the type of data they contain. The above "Best for." lists are just our suggestions.Įvery file that you open on your Windows computer has a file extension. In any case, it is ultimately up to you to decide what to use for storing or sending files. As one of our users said, “Trusting cloud storage with your data is like trusting your Bitcoins to the FTX exchange.”

The ADAS Plus EF& FA performed as well as or better than traditional ADAS-Cog scores. The selected EF candidate added category fluency (ADAS Plus EF), and the selected EF and FA candidate added category fluency, Digit Symbol, Trail Making, and five items from the Functional Assessment Questionnaire (ADAS Plus EF&FA). We compared traditional ADAS-Cog scores with the two candidates based on their responsiveness in a validation sample of participants with MCI ( n = 234), ability to predict conversion to dementia ( n = 394), strength of association with baseline MRI ( n = 394) and CSF biomarkers ( n = 193). We selected candidates based on their responsiveness over three years in a training sample of participants with MCI ( n = 160). We calibrated these candidates using baseline data ( n = 811) and selected the best candidate that added EF items alone and that added EF and FA items. We added executive functioning (EF) and functional ability (FA) items to the ADAS-Cog to generate candidate augmented measures. Some participants had lumbar punctures to obtain cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). Informants were queried regarding functional impairments. Participants from the Alzheimer’s Disease Neuroimaging Initiative were administered a neuropsychological battery and 1.5 T MRI scans over 2–3 years.
